| CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD |
| Children are our most treasured resource as
a community of faith. They are the hope of our future as church. However,
that future is now. Therefore, in an attempt to support the faith formation
our children receive at home we offer a Children’s Liturgy of the Word when
we assemble for our Sunday Eucharist. From October to March on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at St. John’s teachers certified and licensed by the State of New York facilitate this sharing of God’s Word. Having been blessed and dismissed by the Presider to the sacristy, before the Liturgy of the Word our, teaches then use the scriptural texts of the day together with arts and crafts to explain God’s Word. The children then rejoin the assembly in the praying of the Our Father with the Presider before returning to their parents in the pew.
